HTC is a key partner for major infrastructure projects across New Zealand and proudly supplied a range of specialist equipment to Ventia and Electrix for a large transmission project in Central Otago.
Transpower upgraded the Clutha-Upper Waitaki transmission lines with a project that includes the replacement of 63km of transmission lines and an upgraded substation. The project was completed in mid 2022 and will increase the transmission network’s capacity, resilience, and efficiency. This will support the development of renewable energy projects in the South Island, reduce energy costs, and improve the network’s performance.
The project is part of Transpower’s wider investment program to ensure that New Zealand’s transmission network is fit for purpose and can support the country’s transition to a low-carbon economy.
